Once again, the Environmental Health Division of the Will County Health Department is busy checking all swimming locations in the county to help keep everyone healthy while they are having fun in the water. In Will County there are 135 pools subject to WCHD inspection (the indoor pools, such as those at hotels, are inspected throughout the year), as well as 12 beach locations.

While the inspections of pools check for items such as proper disinfectants, quality of water treatment, proper functioning of the mechanical room, record keeping, and overall condition of the pool and the deck; the examinations of beach locations are designed to take bacterial counts of the water, such as for e-coli and fecal coliform.
