Energy Saving Tips for Hot Weekend

Let’s Keep the Power On this Weekend

In the face of the summer heat wave this weekend, there is a greater risk for electrical blackouts due to increased energy use for air conditioning.

Therefore, WCHD would like to remind you how you can help reduce energy consumption during this weekend’s heat wave and throughout these hot summer months.

Before you leave today, please:
• Block the Heat: Keep shades, blinds and curtains closed to avoid taking in 40 percent of unwanted heat.
• Close Exterior Doors and Windows: Keep exterior doors and windows closed to keep cool air in and hot air out.
• Turn off Items: Turn lights, appliances, coffee pots, computers and electronics off when not needed.

Thank you and have a safe weekend.
