Job Summary
Performs various dental assisting duties during the examination and treatment of patients. Assists dentist, teaches patients how to care for their teeth, communicates effectively with patients (parents if the patient is a child), sterilizes instruments, sets up the rooms for procedures, takes blood pressure, updates health history, medication list, maintains equipment, inventory, and follows universal precautions and all OSHA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Also responsible for general office duties. Registration data entry, appointments, and patient files. Schedule calls for Tuesday through Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm and Saturday 7:30 am-3:30 pm. The assignment is two to three months.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level II: High School diploma or equivalent. Certification for Coronal Polishing and Application of Pit and Fissure Sealants through the Illinois State Dental Society. Valid CPR and X-ray license, if applicable. One (1) year of experience as a Dental Assistant.

Level I: High School diploma or equivalent. Valid CPR and X-ray license, if applicable. Valid CPR and X-ray license, if applicable. One (1) year of experience as a Dental Assistant.

REQUIREMENTS
Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and minimum auto liability insurance.

Salary Range

Hourly Wages ($20-$25 Per Hour, with no benefits)
