The CDC and other agencies across the U.S. Government announced the National Action Plan for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria, 2020-2025, the country’s second plan to address coordinated and strategic actions to address antibiotic resistance across humans, animals, and the environment. In the next five years through new National Action Plan for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria, 2020-2025, CDC seeks to strengthen domestic infrastructure by doubling AR investments in state and local health departments; expand the AR Lab Network internationally to identify and inform the response to emerging threats around the world; improve domestic and global capacities (prevention, surveillance, and control) to fight the spread of antibiotic resistance through in food, the environment, and in communities; and more.
