Job Summary
The Health Navigator works in collaboration with the COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Team, local Community-Based organizations, local health providers, various county departments, and local social service organizations to ensure that information, education, and vaccination opportunities are available to all residents in Will County. This position will identify and target individuals who are disproportionally affected by the COVID-19 virus in terms of morbidity and mortality. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, and weekend hours may be required at times. Must have your own reliable transportation and will be required to use your own vehicle for fieldwork.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum one (1) year of experience performing direct education, outreach, fielding referrals to hard-to-reach communities and/or volunteer or professional experience in community outreach, grassroots, or advocacy. Or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with six (6) months of experience performing education, outreach, fielding referrals, or working within an organization furthering health equity and/or volunteer or professional experience in community outreach, grassroots, or advocacy.

REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and minimum auto liability insurance. Verification of employment eligibility.

DESIRED
Bilingual in Spanish. May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask. Frequent interaction with a diverse population, including team members, medical providers, residents, social service and community-based organizations and staff. Comfortable engaging with the public, able to actively listen, and effectively convey information.

Salary Range

$22.00 – $25.00 Per hour
