Under the supervision of the Division Director through immediate supervisors; plans, organizes, and evaluates the nutrition component of Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
The Community Health Educator will be responsible for all activities required by assigned Community Health Initiatives/Grants, including Illinois Tobacco Free Communities (Tobacco Program) and the HIV/STI Prevention and Pre/Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP/PEP) programs.
Duties include a high level of data entry, telephone reception, registration scheduling, filing, timekeeping, and using customer service skills. Position is for the WCHD WIC Program. Schedule Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm, and Wednesday, 10:30 am-6:30 pm. Candidate must be able to travel to other sites as needed.

Additional grant work may include the All Our Kids Early Childhood Network, or other grant work as assigned.
Candidate will conduct investigations, surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases of public health. Areas of importance will be vaccine-preventable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, bloodborne pathogens, foodborne diseases, waterborne diseases, airborne diseases, vector-borne diseases, zoonotic diseases, healthcare-associated infections, and emerging infectious diseases.
