Board of Health Meeting on June 17

The Will County Board of Health will hold its regular meeting on June 17, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in person at 501 Ella Ave, (Joliet, IL 60433) in conference room 1005A/1005B.

WCHD Closed on June 19th

The Will County Health Department and Community Health Center will be closed at all locations on Friday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. Regular business hours will resume on Saturday, June 20th.

HIV/STI Program to Host Grill & Chill Event on June 12th

The Will County Health Department STI/HIV Program is hosting a Grill & Chill Cookout event on Friday, June 12th from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm at the Will County Health Department’s Main Office located at 501 Ella Ave. in Joliet.

The Will County Health Department (WCHD) has confirmed an additional positive case of measles in Will County

The Will County Health Department’s Communicable Disease staff is working to collect additional details to identify and notify people that may have been exposed to measles, provide education, and recommend appropriate measures. Additionally, the WCHD is in close contact with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) as the active investigation continues.

Will County Health Department Announces Positive Case Of Measles In Will County


The Will County Health Department’s Communicable Disease staff is working to collect additional details to identify and notify people that may have been exposed to measles, provide education, and recommend appropriate measures. Additionally, the Will County Health Department is in close contact with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) as the investigation continues. Case investigation has determined this case is related to the ongoing situation in the City of Chicago.

First Cases of Mosquitoes With West Nile Virus Detected in Will County

The Will County Health Department’s Environmental Health division announced that mosquitoes trapped in Mokena, Frankfort and Plainfield tested positive for West Nile virus [WNV]. These results represent the first WNV positive mosquitoes identified in Will County this year. Will County residents are reminded to protect themselves from mosquito bites and mosquito-borne diseases.
