WIC To Host Easter Egg-Strvaganza

JOLIET, Ill. – The Will County Health Department’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program will be hosting an Easter Egg-Stravaganza on March 25 in Joliet (501 Ella Ave.) and on April 1 in Bolingbrook (323 Quadrangle Dr.). The free event is open to the public and will feature an Easter Egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny and a free raffle. Both events will run from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm while the Joliet event will have specific egg-hunt times based on children’s ages.

In addition to an Easter Egg hunt and photos with the Easter Bunny, activities will range from coloring, face painting, games and more. A Baby-Trend wagon will be given away at both events. No purchase is necessary to enter the giveaway.

“The Will County WIC team is here to support your family,” said Diana Visvardis, WIC Program Coordinator at the Will County Health Department. “This is just one of our special events that we host to create a positive experience for families and children and give back to the families we serve. These events also provide an opportunity for new families to learn about WIC and join our community. You do not need to be a current WIC client to attend these events.”

March 25 Event Specific
The Easter Egg-Stravagenza will take place at the Will County Health Department’s Main Office in Joliet (501 Ella Ave.). There are specific times for the egg hunt based on ages. Toddlers (ages 1-3) are at 3:30 p.m. while kids ages 4 and up will be at 4:00 p.m. An egg hunt for moms is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Information on enrolling in WIC will be available at the event. Representatives from various local agencies and businesses will also have information tables set up. Agencies and businesses currently scheduled to attend the event in Joliet include: Will County Community Health Center, Will County Health Department Immunization Clinic, Will County Community Concerns, Pregnancy Resource Center, Joliet Fire Department, Head Start and National Life Insurance. WIC approved grocery stores Rio Grande, Gonzalez Fresh Produce, Atotonilco Taqueria and Caza Izatac will also be in attendance.

April 1 Event Specifics
The Easter Egg-Stravagenza will take place at the Will County Health Department’s Northern Branch Office in Bolingbrook (323 Quadrangle Drive). There are no specific times assigned for the egg hunt.

Information on enrolling in WIC will be available at the event. Representatives from various local agencies and businesses will also have information tables set up. Agencies and businesses currently scheduled to attend the event in Bolingbrook include: Will County Health Department Environmental Health, Will County Health Department Behavioral Health, Will County Community Health Center, Will County Health Department Immunization Clinic, DuPage Township, Bolingbrook Fire Department, Head Start, Bolingbrook Pediatrics, National Life Insurance and Crunch Fitness.
