Women, Infants, and Children Supplement Nutrition Program (WIC) provides food, nutrition counseling and referrals to help caregivers until their child’s fifth birthday.

Care Beyond WIC

To become eligible for Illinois WIC, an applicant must meet the following requirements listed below:

You must be an Illinois resident who is/are:

  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding (up to baby’s 1st birhday)
  • Non-breastfeeding postpartum (up to 6 months)
  • Infants and children (up to their 5th birthday)

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • Proof of identity for you and your child
  • Proof of household income
  • Immunization record for infants and children

Remember, your child must attend your first appointment.

What should I expect?

During your first appointment, a WIC representative will walk you through the eligibility process to ensure you meet the criteria.

Your representative will:

  • Conduct a health assessment
  • Provide opportunities to discuss nutrition and health concerns
  • Provide monthly benefits and education that will help you with your food budget

The Will County WIC is now a milk depot for the Western Great Lakes Mothers’ Milk Bank!

The milk donated to Milk Bank WGL provides over 90 hospitals throughout Wisconsin and Illinois with nutritious breast milk for thousands of families.

Milk Bank WGL is the only non-profit HMBANA Accredited milk bank serving Wisconsin and Illinois. Learn more about the amazing organization on their website!
