Job Summary
This position is responsible for participating in and creating four (4) to eight (8) outreach activities per month for community residents who lack healthcare and health insurance access. Duties include but are not limited to providing enrollment and follow-up assistance by answering questions about health insurance coverage, assisting in healthcare coverage enrollment, and building/strengthening collaborative efforts and partnerships with community resources to increase awareness of health insurance coverage options. Small and large groups, virtual and in-person educational and promotional meetings. Schedule, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and Saturday hours and some local travel.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Outreach Specialist I: High School diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of experience in public health.
Outreach Specialist II: Associate degree from an accredited institution in Nursing, Science, Family, Liberal Arts, or Social Work with three (3) years of experience in public health, or a High School diploma or equivalent with two (2) years as an Outreach Specialist I.
REQUIREMENTS
Obtain Marketplace Navigator certification and licensure within three (3) weeks of hire. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and minimum auto liability insurance. Verification of U.S citizenship or employment eligibility.
DESIRED
Healthcare Marketplace and marketing experience. Data entry, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel experience. Bilingual in Spanish.
Salary Range
Grade 9 Hourly Wages ($18.82 – $26.59)
Grade 10 Hourly Wages ($22.35 – $31.58)
