The Will County Health Department’s Family Health Services division and Community Health Center both attended the Thursday Night, August 22nd YOUR LIGHT STILL SHINES program at Lincoln-Way West High School. This International Overdose Awareness Day Event focused upon the epidemic of opioid and heroin overdose deaths, and included Narcan training from Will County Director of Substance Use Initiatives Dr. Kathleen Burke.
Additional speakers included hosting mayor Tim Baldermann of New Lenox, HERO (Heroin Epidemic Relief Organization) founder John Roberts, and Will County State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow. The event was organized by Village of New Lenox Safe Community Coordinator Daniel Martin.
