Will County Community Health Center To Celebrate National Health Center Week

JOLIET, Ill. – The Will County Community Health Center (WCCHC) is proud to celebrate National Health Center Week 2026, taking place August 2-8.

Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) sponsors National Health Center Week (NHCW) to celebrate and increase awareness of America’s 1,500 Community Health Centers (CHCs) and the essential role they play in improving public health and providing Americans equal opportunity to access critical healthcare services. CHCs represent the nation’s largest primary care network, serving 32.5 million patients nationwide.

This year’s NHCW celebration, focuses on the theme: “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most.” As part of National Health Center Week, the Will County Community Health Center and Will County Health Department will host a Stakeholder’s Appreciation Day on Friday, August 7, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at the Will County Community Health Center in Joliet (1106 Neal Ave.). The event will feature brief remarks from Will County Health Department Executive Director Elizabeth Bilotta, Will County Community Health Center CEO Stacy Baumgartner, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, U.S. Representative Lauren Underwood and State Representative Dagmara Avelar.

They are powered by a workforce of over 310,000 dedicated professionals who reach beyond the walls of the exam room with effective services that not only prevent illness but also address the factors that may cause it.

The WCCHC provides a wide variety of health services for the Will County community. Services include primary medical care, behavioral health and dental care for all ages. Insurance enrollment assistance, eye care, women’s health/OBGYN, family planning services and HIV/STI and Infectious disease testing and treatment are also offered at the WCCHC.
