If you or someone you know has been exposed to the HIV virus, we offer HIV testing, counseling, and treatment right here at the Will County Health Department. Be Safe, Be Sure, Get Tested, Get Treatment!
We offer access to both PEP (Post-exposure Prophylaxis) and PrEP (Pr-Exposure Prophylaxis). PEP prevents HIV after a possible exposure. PEP must be started within 72 hours after a recent possible exposure to HIV. PrEP is a once per day pill or an injection every other month used to prevent acquiring HIV when taken as prescribed.
The Will County Health Department’s HIV/STI Care Clinic provides quality education, testing and prevention services to individuals at high risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV.
