Will County Executive Bertino-Tarrant encourages residents to visit the Community Health Center Dental Clinic for regular services and treatments

WILL COUNTY – February is often the time people think about heart health. Dental is an equally important part of overall good wellbeing and February is a special time to focus on the dental health of children. The Will County Community Health Center operates a full service dental clinic for children and adults.

“I am proud of the superior dental care services the Will County Community Health Center offers to our residents,” said County Executive Bertino-Tarrant. “Regular dental checkups are key to maintaining good quality of life.”

The dental clinic is located inside the Community Health Center, located at 1106 Neal Avenue in Joliet. The staff has taken safety measures to ensure the safety of its patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Will County Community Health Center Dental Clinic at 1106 Neal Avenue in Joliet can be reached at 815-774-7300.

“Good dental care begins at an early age,” said Dr. Sangita Garg, Chief Dental Officer. “It is important for children to begin regular visits to the dentist and develop good dental habits that will last a lifetime.”

A children’s dental exam includes cleaning, fluoride treatment, x-rays, sealants as needed, prevention and oral care education. Dr. Garg said these exams, twice a year, will ensure good dental health for children. “Our dentists and dental assistants are trained to work with children to ease their fears and teach them about healthy brushing,” Dr. Garg said.

The dental clinic also offers services for adults including, emergency care, white fillings, regular and deep cleaning, simple and surgical extractions, and panoramic x-rays. Garg said the Panoramic X-ray machine offers a single picture of all teeth and surrounding bones, faster and with less radiation. This X-ray can be taken easily for children and adults with gag reflexes, anxiety, or patients with difficulty in opening their mouths due to swelling or infections.

The Community Health Center Dental Clinic accepts Medicaid and Medicaid HMOs and some private insurances. A sliding fee scale is offered to families without insurance. Please call (815) 774-7300 to make an appointment.
