Job Summary
The Performance and Quality Improvement Specialist provides ongoing monitoring of performance improvement, continuous quality improvement, and utilization review of the services provided within the Division of Behavioral Health Programs. This is largely accomplished through a computerized clinical documentation system review process.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An individual who meets the minimum credentials for either the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), as established by TITLE 59: Mental Health, Chapter IV: Department of Human Services, Part 132 Medicaid Community Mental Health Services Program.

The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) is defined as an individual who possesses a master’s degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, or family therapy or related field, who has successfully completed a practicum or internship that included a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised direct service, or who has one year of clinical experience under the supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).

A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Health Systems Management, with 3-5 years of healthcare-related experience, with a focus in Performance Improvement, Quality Assurance, and Utilization Review.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, minimum auto liability insurance. Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility.

DESIRED:
Experience with Accreditation, Licensure, and Certification audits/surveys.
