Candidate will conduct investigation, surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable and
non-communicable diseases of public health. Areas of importance will be vaccine preventable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, bloodborne pathogens, foodborne diseases, waterborne diseases, airborne diseases, vectorborne diseases, zoonotic diseases, healthcare-associated infections, and emerging infectious diseases. Assist in Outbreak Investigations through data collection, case interviews, contact tracing, education, and prevention.
Communicable Disease Investigator I:
Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Biological Science with minimum 1 year experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Communicable Disease Investigator II:
Accredited Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Biological Science, OR Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing or Biological Science with minimum 2 years’ experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Communicable Disease Investigator III:
Accredited Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Biological Science with minimum of two (2) years’ experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, with minimum auto liability insurance and personal vehicle in operable condition.
Bilingual in Spanish. Experience working with congregate settings, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
CD Investigator I:
Grade 12 Hourly Wages ($20.11 – $31.37)
CD Investigator II:
Grade 13 Hourly Wages ($22.34 – $34.85)
CD Investigator III:
Grade 14 Hourly Wages ($24.83-$38.72)
