Job Summary
Candidate will conduct investigation, surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases of public health. Areas of importance will be vaccine-preventable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, bloodborne pathogens, foodborne diseases, waterborne diseases, airborne diseases, vector-borne diseases, zoonotic diseases, healthcare-associated infections, and emerging infectious diseases. Assist in Outbreak Investigations through data collection, case interviews, contact tracing, education, and prevention. Schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Job is 100% in person.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Communicable Disease Investigator I: Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Science with one (1) year of experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Communicable Disease Investigator II: Accredited Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Science, OR Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Science with two (2) years’ experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Communicable Disease Investigator III: Accredited Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or Science with two (2) years’ experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
REQUIREMENTS
Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, with minimum auto liability insurance.
DESIRED
Bilingual in Spanish. Experience working with congregate settings, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Salary Range
CD Investigator I: Grade 12 Hourly Wages ($25.32 – $35.77)
CD Investigator Grade 13 Hourly Wages ($28.13 – $39.75)
CD Investigator III: Grade 14 Hourly Wages ($31.26 – $44.17)
