Job Summary
Candidate will conduct investigation, surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases of public health. Areas of importance will be vaccine preventable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, bloodborne pathogens, foodborne diseases, waterborne diseases, airborne diseases, vector-borne diseases, zoonotic diseases, healthcare-associated infections, and emerging infectious diseases. Assist in Outbreak Investigations through data collection, case interviews, contact tracing, education, and prevention. Schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Communicable Disease Investigator I: Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health,
Epidemiology, Nursing, or Biological Science with minimum 1 year experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Communicable Disease Investigator II: Accredited Master’s Degree in Public Health,
Epidemiology, Nursing, or Biological Science, OR Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing or Biological Science with minimum 2 years’ experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
Communicable Disease Investigator III: Accredited Master’s Degree in Public Health,
Epidemiology, Nursing, or Biological Science with minimum of two (2) years’ experience in communicable disease investigation and epidemiology.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, with minimum auto liability insurance.
Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility.
DESIRED:
Bilingual in Spanish. Experience working with congregate settings, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Salary Range
CD Investigator I: Grade 12 Hourly Wages ($20.11 – $31.37)
CD Investigator II: Grade 13 Hourly Wages ($22.34 – $34.85)
CD Investigator III: Grade 14 Hourly Wages ($24.83-$38.72)
