Job Summary
Works under the supervision of the Division/Department Head through immediate supervisor as directed or required. Duties include, telephone reception, registration scheduling, filing, timekeeping and using customer service skills, preparing, and editing purchasing requisitions, inventory of all supplies to meet requirements, placing orders with vendors, maintain a filing system and updating records as required, and evaluate cost purchasing from various vendors. Gathering and entering of data into computer and interact with vendors in case of delay in delivery of supplies, receipt of damage or incorrect quantity of goods. May be required to cross train to other programs within FHS. Candidate must be able to work occasional evening hours and travel to other sites as needed. Schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

Minimum Qualifications

Administrative Clerk I:
High School diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of clerical or similar clerical background required. Must demonstrate proficiency in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Pass Health Department clerical testing.

Administrative Clerk II:
High School diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of clerical or similar clerical background required. Proficiency in performing the essential job function of Administrative Clerk I. Must demonstrate proficiency in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Pass the Health Department clerical testing.

Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, with minimum auto liability insurance. Health Department support staff testing required.

Bi-lingual in Spanish.

Salary Range

Grade 8 Hourly Wages ($14.20 – $22.15)
Grade 9 Hourly Wages ($14.95 – $23.31)
